
German WW2 Iron Cross Second Class - EK2 with Ribbon
Instituted on September 1, 1939, by Adolf Hitler, the EK2 was awarded for acts of bravery or leadership in combat. The design follows a legacy dating back to 1813 and is one of the most recognizable military decorations of WWII. Unlike the First Class version, the EK2 was worn on a ribbon from a buttonhole and not pinned directly to the tunic.
