WW2 German Police Visor Cap Eagle 1st Pattern

This is an original German WWII Police Visor Cap Eagle, 1st Pattern, worn on the service caps of the Ordnungspolizei during the early years of the Second World War. First pattern police eagles are noted for their bold, die-struck construction and strong relief, reflecting early wartime production standards.

This example features the early style spread-winged eagle with the head facing to the eagle’s right, clutching a wreath enclosing a swastika. The feathering to the wings, body, and tail shows pronounced depth and sharp definition, while the wreath and central device remain clearly formed. The reverse no longer retains it's attachment pins.

This piece represents an authentic example of WWII-era German police insignia, well suited for collectors of early war uniform components and Ordnungspolizei headgear.

Specifications

  • Material: Silver
  • Origin: Germany
  • Era: WW2
  • Condition: Condition is consistent with age and period use, showing honest surface wear and a smooth, even patina. Detail remains crisp throughout, and the insignia presents strongly overall.
