WW2 German Spanish Cross in Silver w/ Swords Marked "CEJ"

This is an original WWII German Spanish Cross in Silver with Swords, a WWII-era German military award instituted to recognize combat service by German volunteers of the Condor Legion during the Spanish Civil War (1936–1939). The Silver grade with Swords was awarded for direct frontline participation and represents one of the most prestigious decorations authorized in the pre-war period, closely associated with Luftwaffe combat service in Spain.

This example exhibits crisp detail to the vaulted Maltese-style cross, with four Luftwaffe eagles clutching German ensigns positioned between crossed swords. The obverse displays an attractive light grey patina across the radiating rays, while the reverse shows only light contact marks and remains plain. It is maker marked “CEJ” for C.E. Juncker, Berlin, along with a 900 silver content mark. The reverse is fitted with a slender vertical bottlepin and a fully functional hinge and catch assembly.

Condition is consistent with age and period use, with sharp details retained and only light, honest wear present. Overall presentation remains strong and well-defined. This decoration is well suited for German WWII awards and decorations collecting, particularly for those focused on Condor Legion and early Luftwaffe history.
