European Knight's Flanged Battle Mace w/ Spiral Grip 16th-17th Century

This all-steel flanged battle mace is a formidable Renaissance weapon, originating from either Germany or France in the late 16th to early 17th century. The shaft features a spiral-twisted grip for improved handling, and the flanged head was designed to concentrate force and pierce heavy plate armor.

A drilled hole at the base allowed the addition of a wrist strap for battlefield retention. Maces of this type were commonly carried by mounted knights and foot soldiers alike, offering an effective countermeasure to armor that was becoming increasingly impervious to edged weapons. Its robust design made it especially useful in cavalry engagements and siege warfare.
